Just days after tribute, Toofan dies

Just a few days after attending an event where Iranian artists abroad paid tribute to him, veteran singer Toofan passed away early Tuesday. He died of cancer at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
To show support with the ailing artist and to wish Toofan well, the Iranian music community of Los Angeles gathered on Wednesday, May 31, just five days before his passing. His condition had improved slightly to the point he was able to attend the event “A Tribute to Toofan” and listen to his fellow-artists performing in a one-of-a-kind act of solidarity. In attendance were Dariush, Ebi, Moein, Andy, Shahram Solati, Omid, Shahram Shabpareh, Hengameh, Farshid Amin, Helen, Shohreh, Sattar, Shahrokh, Kamran & Hooman, Piruz, Korous, KamyR, Black Cats, Pouya, Leila Forouhar, and Shahbal Shabpareh.
